Euro-BioImaging: First Stakeholder Meeting

Juli 17, 2009

From September 21-22, 2009 the first stakeholder meeting of Euro-BioImaging will take place at the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg, Germany. The goal of Euro-BioImaging project is to establish a pan-European imaging infrastructure for biological and medical research. It will provide access to state of the art imaging technologies, training and a continuous development of imaging research technologies. The aim of the stakeholder meeting is to gather eminent representatives of the scientific community, funding and governmental organisations, and industry with particular interest in biomedical imaging and to discuss potential participation as well as the content and structure of this infrastructure project. Cellular Imaging and Analysis Software Relationship

April 28, 2009

PerkinElmer and Accelrys have announced a software collaboration to enable new single cell imaging and analysis techniques. The cooperation is aimed at providing researchers with capabilities for the detection and analysis of single cells via high content screening (HCS) technologies, for faster and better outcomes in identifying cellular markers associated with human health and disease. PerkinElmer’s Columbus software will provide the images containing single cells as well as large amounts of cell level data, and Accelrys‘ Pipeline Pilot platform will furnish intelligent algorithms and image analysis data transfer capability.

World of Photonics

Februar 13, 2009

In June 2009, two international events for optical technologies in Europe will once again take place in Munich, Germany. From June 15-18, the New Munich Trade Fair Centre will host the exposition „LASER World of PHOTONICS“ and from June 14-19 the „World of Photonics Congress“ will be held at the International Congress Centre Munich. Both events address to representatives from research, the laser and optoelectronics industries, professionals involved in medicine and technology as well as physicists, chemists, doctors, engineers, system designers, retail companies and service-providers. This year, the trade show and the congress have expanded their offerings for biophotonics and life sciences. The trade show is setting up an exhibition focus area dedicated to the subject of biophotonics. The World of Photonics Congress will present the field of biophotonics at the „Medical Laser Applications“ conference. Experts in the field of lasers in medicine, optical diagnostics, high-end endoscopy and minimally invasive surgery will give practically orientated presentations.
